Welcome to Karen's Quality Childcare
 Welcome to Karen's Quality Childcare

Are you looking for an experienced, qualified, OFSTED Outstanding childminder?

Then you're in the right place!  I provide a caring and nurturing home-from-home environment for your child.

Please explore the attached webpages via the menu at the top of this page to find out more about my childcare and what I have to offer.

I aim to support your child's personal development and prepare him or her for the future. Your child will benefit from the low child-to-adult ratio, thus ensuring that every child gets daily one-to-one attention whilst mixing with other children within a caring home setting. As a solo childminder I can guarantee your children personal attention and a special relationship that other settings with more than one carer cannot. There will be no change of keyworker and no staff turnover.
I do ensure that the children mix with other children and other adults, however you have the reassurance of knowing that my priority is always the wellbeing of the children in my care.
I believe that all children are entitled to provision that reflects their unique personality, characteristics, and interests. By working closely with parents I can gain a real understanding of their child and plan appropriate activities that stimulate them and enable them to develop confidence in their own abilities and become an independent learner.

The earliest years are a critically important time, and the care I provide will maximise your child's future educational experiences.

I now offer the FREE 3 and 4 year old Funded places, as well as the FREE Funding for 2 year olds. Get in touch to see if your child is eligible for the free childcare.

Caring for others

Our rules are few and simple and our most important rule is

The children in my care are expected to have good manners, take turns, share and care for each other - and they do!  Children appreciate sensible boundaries and thrive in an environment which values good behaviour and gently discourages unwanted behaviour. The children benefit from our caring and relatively harmonious atmosphere!

In the garden

I have a large fully enclosed rear garden.

There is a large grassed area for the children to play on as well as our 'pirate ship', 'noisy corner', 'dinosaur swamp', 'fairy garden', 'story corner', 'dens', etc. We also have a covered area so the children can play outside if they want to, even in wet weather. Obviously we also have all the usual outdoor activities, sit and ride toys, bikes, scooters, sand play and water play.

Being active

The children love to play outside and I have lots of space for them to run, jump and play games. We have equipment for them to develop their balance and coordination skills. Indoors the children love to sing and dance and we learn lots of action songs.

Fun with food

The children enjoy a variety of healthy foods and we actually grow some fruit and vegetables in my garden. e.g. blackcurrants, apples, pears, carrots, potatoes, lettuce, etc. We also share a local allotment. The children love digging, planting, watering and eventually eating what they have grown.

Out and about

We love going out!

We regularly visit the library, local parks, woods, farms, lakes and ponds, as well as travelling further afield to museums, safari parks, the seaside, etc.

There are NO additional costs for trips and outings.
